Desertman84 The Olsen Twins - Mary-Kate and Ashley - take their talents into the big screen as they portray High School twin students Roxy and Jane, who take a trip together away from Long Island. Eugene Levy co- stars. One day,we get to see Roxy and Jane decide play with their parents and spend a day on their own at New York particularly in the island of Manhattan. Both have their own motivations to do so as punk Roxy intends to meet his favorite rock star while straight-A student Jane intends to deliver a speech at a scholarship committee. But things get awry as Jane's planner got stolen and both find themselves get involved in a political scandal involving a senator.Meanwhile, their high school's truant officer tries to pursue them.Well, obviously the film isn't great. But by this time, the fans of the Olsen twins are already used to it.It's either you like them or dislike them.As for the plot,it is definitely far from original and refreshing as we get to see another version of the classic Ferris Bueller's Day Off.As always,it is contrived, predictable and clichéd - three qualities that of any Olsen Twins' film.
Souvy If you're a Mary Kate and Ashley fan you'll love it, it's definitely the best film they have done yet. It shows them at probably their most likable roles, and being the most recent film from the double-act it shows what they are like right now. They act and even look very different now so it is less like their earlier films where they always looked the same and would even switch places - although there is a wee switch at the end of New York Minute where Mary Kate tried to help Ashley by reading her speech for her! It still has the classic Olsen twin moments where they realise how much they love being twins! It has all you'd want from a chick flick!
tnguy4u111 I am currently serving life without parole for first-degree murder. I purchased this movie as a birthday present for my little sister who watched it with her friends. We walked in mid movie to find all 12 girls having hung themselves mid-way through the film. My lawyer tried to get me off on the defense of not knowing how mind-shatteringly awful this movie was but after showing 2 mins to the jury they immediately determined that anyone would realize watching this movie is much worse than suicide. Little known facts about NYM: IMDb has had this movie permanently engraved on the list of the 100 worst films of all time. This is the tape they use in THE RING. When u go to blockbuster to rent it theyll tell ya to hold on to it as long as u want knowing ill be back in a new york minute
fancy_a_peek If New York Minute were just that, a minute long it would still be a waste of life. I can't believe Hollywood continues to waste money on making retarded films. Who the hell read/wrote this script and thought it was a good idea? I saw this movie free on HBO and it still felt like I was ripped off. The Olsen Twins should stop making crappy ass movies. Aren't the billions they've made from crappy ass products with their names slapped on it enough? God bless the poor souls who see this movie. The Olsen's are money whores and should be jailed at once. If God really does judge us on things we do on this Earth, well then Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen are going straight to hell!
