mike_aeflemming a true classic, a movie you can watch with your own children, later with your grandchildren, or by yourself if you need cheering up.the ridiculous plot ensures that nobody will take it seriously, and many of the classic lines " how thoughtful", "its blue cheese", "then I guess you're going thirsty loser" , will be repeated for generations in my family and I"m sure thousands of others. Anyone who is offended by this type of humor is taking life way too seriously.
mary-179-677383 I have had the misery forced upon me to watch Problem child 1 &2 right after another.Firstly, the child is a little terror and you feel absolutely nothing for his character. I was hoping the little brat got what he deserved, but of course I knew he wouldn't.The scenes are ridiculous and so is the kids voice and actions. His meant to be 7, but unless he is a genius then he wouldn't be able to do half the things he does. Also, the scenes try to be serious yet there not, Problem Child the mum is put in a suitcase and is chucked around. The kid idolizes a murderer. I really cant think of one good thing about this movie.
Kristinartist79 I am in two minds with this movie; on the one hand, this is a movie that children like Junior could relate to. Even if you are the child who cannot fit or the child with a poor family situation. (spoilder for both movies) Not to get into the first movie, but it is hard to write about one and not the other, since they are both connected, but I like how in both movies the father seemed to stay on his side for the most part. However, this movie is not a great influence for children in some ways. For example, the father seems to encourage bad behavior instead of, for example telling junior to be nice to little girls. In the first one, I do not like how the father received the ransom note and was practically throwing a party, even if in the end he saved junior. I know his wife was mean, but that does not make it right for him to blow her off and leave her in a dangerous situation like that. And his fiancé was mean in the second one, but it did not make it right for the children to almost hurt her or to put themselves in danger. I could understand if it was doing some little funny things, like in Matilda, but this movie went a little too far. Also, I thought it was a little insulting to women to have all those women lining up for the husband at the door to meet the father like women are all just so desperate that they will go to any man they see. For all they knew he could have been a looser.
thomas1652 and nothing else. One of my friends bought the Problem Child Tantrum Pack (contains the first two "Problem Child"s in one disc), and we decided to watch the sequel because it was "funnier".There were many funny moments in the movie (the vomit scene, that's all I need to say.), Nippy the dog after eating CHOW DOWN, and numerous others. The movie is nothing but toilet humor, but it's hilarious. Other than the funny moments, though, this movie has little to offer.John Ritter annoys the crap out of me, because it sounds like he's reading out of a book. The man can't act in this one, sorry.Although I can't say if I would find the movie funny now...(we were blown when we watched it), it's a perfect movie for a rainy day...but nothing else. Don't expect Oscar material on this one, guys.
