silvan-desouza South remakes after Ghajini, Wanted, Singham became a norm in bollywood, Rowdy Rathore was Akshay's first South remake The film is a remake of Vikramarkadu(2006) which was then dubbed in Hindi as Pratighat- The Revenge. The film is a copy paste from the original hardly few things have been changed like the character's fight with women in the original. From start to end it looks like a south remake with loud characters like Baapji, actors hamming. The first half is a drag, only the fight towards the interval is well handled however stupid it may seem. The second half gets a bit better when Shiva goes to the village but the end result isn't anything great. One can't fathom how come both the Akki's look the same except the moustache which was a flaw in the original as well Even the navel pinching looks odd in an Hindi filmDirection by Prabhu Devaa is okay, most of the film is a copy paste Music is okay, Dhadaang Dhadaang and Chinta Chinta are fun numbers though their picturisation is very South style.Akshay Kumar entertains though he does ham a lot especially in Vikram's role but yet he is good in his part. Sonakshi Sinha in her second film after Dabaang does just the same type acting Amongst rest Nasser overacts and his dubbing could be better, The actor who plays Titya is hardly terrifying like the original, Paresh Ganantra as 2g is good, Yashpal Sharma is good in his part, Gurdeep Kohli is good in a cameo too rest are okay.
pines786 I am shocked to see so many good reviews about such a bad film ....can't believe that it was Sanjay Leena Bansaali produced and Prabhu Deva directed...In one word it is cheap and has immature content.Bad story line. Can't believe that the producer had directed such good films earlier. Prabhu Deva...with all my respect towards you I would request you to be only in dance direction. Movie direction is not your cup of tea.The villains also need to improve their acting.Low grade action/comedy/circus movie.
Amol Indurkar Meaningless Disgusting Crap made just to earn profit. I don't really understand the concept of these movies, why are they liked in masses. They just followed the trend like previous bollywoods hits i.e Dabang and Singham - A Strong armed Police officer with mustaches. Wearing Aviator framed Shades, Tamil Fight action scenes. Senseless Dialogues repeated in every 15mins. Idiotic emotional drama. Idiotic Villain. Cheap Item song to attract pervert crowd. Akshay Kumar is a respectable person and a good actor,I really used to like him.God only knows why he's selecting such types of movies PS- The movie was so dumb actually made me write a review for the first time.
Herag Halli If not for the stunningly sensationl-Sonakshi Sinha, this movie has all the ingredients of a kachada movie. You can't expect much class from a Telugu director like Prabhu Deva (Vastundi Shigramu..Kachada moviealu-Bhayankara Kattivarasalu-Bhayankara Mustiyuddalu) who is not only the worst but cheap and un-aesthetic choreographer. By letting him direct a movie, the producer, the caliber of Bhansali, is stooping low and has shown disrespect to the Hindi cinema. The music is horrible, and it is a shame, if this duo, were paid for this malady of composition. The humor is low brow and stupid, very much consistent with front-bencher's expectation of comedy.Akshay Kumar,is the highest paid actor in Hindi cinema. He is capable of good acting as in "Patiala House" yet, he keeps churning out stupid, dimwit, buffoonary as in this movie. The action is generic dishum-dishum that a six year old street kid can direct. I give this movie a 3 for Sonakshi (who looks very much Indian as opposed to the imbecile imports, who can't act, dance or speak Hindi,) reminding us of classy actresses of yester-years, the likes of Vijayntimala and Sadhana. The rest of the movie is for the birds, with cheap thrills for the front benchers who relish and dictate the 100 crore movie market, and not for the sophisticated audience, which is in the process of extinction and this movie along with "Dabhang", "3 Idiots" and Delhi Belly" will only help to hasten that process.
