Wizard-8 It's been a long time since I've seen "The Prophecy" and "The Prophecy 2", so I have to admit that my fading memories of those movies resulted in me being somewhat confused on some details of "The Prophecy 3". I do remember that Walken's character had been stripped of power and became a human at the end of the previous movie. But his character here seems different, not the villainous figure he previously was. He seems to have some kind of supernatural powers now. He actually seems to be angling to be a good guy at times. But anyway, I found his character to be very inconsequental - he could have easily been written out of the movie. Maybe that's why Walken gives an underwhemling performance here.I found the other characters to be poorly constructed as well. The main bad guy was simply not that interesting, with murky motives. By the time the underwhelming climax rolled around, I simply didn't care anymore.Anything positive to say about this movie? Well, for a made-for-video movie, the production values are overall okay. Despite many cost-cutting measures (like frequent close-ups and unimaginative L.A. and desert locations chosen), the movie looks okay to the eye. But even big-budget film-making would not have helped the sorry script.
jamie jo jesus hearken people...the angel's ain't singing glad tidings of joy but rather communicating through whisperings in your head that cause you to go insane or manipulate susceptible religious fanatics (the devil's minions) to kill others or themselves. pyriel, an angel even more evil than lucifer, has arisen to power and is on an undaunted mission to destroy all of us humans (after all we're just a bunch of monkeys) and to sew some new seed. now i am not one to think that all angels do not possess a soul, any more than i think that all people possess a heart and soul, but i do find it to actually be a tad bit pertinent and there has to be at least a measure of truth to angels pyriel and zophael and some humans method of madness...insidiously that of genocide...humans killing other humans out a sense of superiority over the others ethnicity, culture, belief system, and out of greed and power...sound familiar? what with all our new technology and the gross overpopulation of the earth we could very well be on our way to a not so nice ending...fueled by new and already existing wars (over oil) and skirmishes (from unintentional or intentionally plotted misunderstandings). we are living one of the most stressful moments in history with a very shaky economy (well the masses of poor probably do not notice to much difference).where religious fanatics and patriarchal based religions...oh yeah...that would be all of them, and corrupt politicians and greedy, power hungry individuals who are hoarding the wealth at the expense of everyone else. the devil (and for all we know that might be the controlling, manipulative, jealous entity that calls himself god that is in the bible, torah, qua ran or it could be those damn popes, bishops, and priests, etc. who rewrote a book for there obvious agendas.) has only to fuel the fire of discontent with alcohol "spirits" and drugs and increasing mental illness so that our Armageddon would just be perceived as us doing it to ourselves. oh, the good parts of the movie...danyeal, the son of Valerie Rosales and arch angel daniel, along with his girlfriend, Magdalena, are the two people who are going to change the course of the inevitable end for us monkeys into a pleasant one. they have the assistance of the "reformed" archangel gabriel at crucial moments (i am not personally satisfied that it isn't for altruistic motives...but he does blaze out into a coven of white doves into the radiant, bright light of god at the end. and courageous efforts of the morgue doctor, the encouragement from Mary who was a unwilling host to evil previously, and the sacrifice of his mother's and father's lives. anyway...a good reminder that we should all get serious about love, peace, justice, happiness and all the good stuff happening. and remember we need a beautiful planet to live on, so tread lightly...i am pretty sure there is no other place quite like it. so monkey's...monkey see..monkey do. be the change you wish to see. imagine all the people..! submitted with the utmost love and respect!
Global_Marketing_Pros I am very excited about the accuracy of prophecies. How human nature brings about the logic of man and his kingdom. In today's world the motives of men to establish a just and good society can not be overlooked with actions of terrorist who would call themselves patriots or the angels of their societies. The mirror images of the Twin Towers and the Brazilian government make for a testament to what man can build and destroy. To harness Gods force of nature and direct it must be awesome. As this film projects even the worst of mans fears invites heavens guardians to help guide them.Christopher Walken plays this role very well, although I appreciated him more in the original prophecy. I think the passion that he used in the movie The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is what most might expect of a dark angel. But as Robert DeNiro portrayed in Johnny Angel the power of wisdom by Gods hand is the moving force. Thus, I am equally satisfied with how Walken plays this dark guardian of heavens gate.
antialias11 Well the third part of the installment is enjoyable. It has some weaknesses, but overall I didn't mind watching it.The Weaknesses: No recognizable angelic names in it (with the exception of Gabriel). The bad guy (Zophael) is a total no-name, so you don't really know how to rank him (powerful/not powerful), which wasn't really a problem in the first part. There you knew that Simon was more powerful than Uziel; that Gabriel could beat Simon's ass; and that Lucifer could smack them all to hell in a handbasket. Funnily this works to advantage for the movie as you don't really know which side of the factions Zophael and who actually is the good/bad guy until somewhat in the middle of the movie. The actors aren't all that good (with the exception of Walken, Spano - who brings that charisma back to the angels that was so severely lacking in the second part- and the Coroner who has grown to be one of my favourite characters in the three movies)Strenghts: The storyline is closed. I won't argue that it's the most coherent storyline, but it at least makes some moderate sense in itself. The musical score has always been one of the big things about the trilogy and they kept it -wisely- unchanged for the most part. This time around we have more funny scenes and even some jabs at the original 'The Prophecy', while not making it campy and keeping all the good bits (fights, heart ripping, supernatural powers etc.). Some of the moves seem very Matrix-like, but that was already the case in 'The Prophecy II', so I don't really know who copied from whom (It just seems so similar: Humans fighting against some overly powerful and nigh unkillable opponents in cool long dark suits). No matter: It's fun to watch. This time we also don't get treated to some candy sweet religious thing in the end, where the main character suddenly becomes a devout Christian - that's a big plus.Overall, I'd recommend seeing this film. Best if viewed together with the other two or you will not get many of the references.7/10
