Reviews

shine67 I realize a "helpful" review typically tells you a little about the good and/or bad of a movie, but trust me when I just say "NO."
cristofermorgan I loved this movie. Yea the special effects aren't Star wars but the acting is great the story line is very original and the guys are gay, vampires and hot. Where have you ever seen that before? I only saw the movie version of course but would love to see the original series as a lot of footage was cut from the series to make the movie a reasonable length. More than two hours was cut according to the director. There probably isn't much chance for another sequel but would love to see Dan Briggs and Rhys Howells work together again. The chemistry between these two was amazing. And very believable. If you like vampires, do yourself a favor and watch this and the sequel Vampires Lucas Rising.
larapha After watching many of last year's gay vampire themed movies, I found this to be the best of the lot. Not that it's very good, or even good, but incomparable better than flops like 'The Vampire Boys' (1&2) or 'Kissing Darkness'. However poor the special effects, they could be find in modest sitcoms, and are ages afar the cited rival films. The main problem I found is the acting. Apart from Lucas (Rhys Howells) the main vampire, the cast can hardly deliver their lines, what is made more difficult because of the exaggerate fangs they wear. At least, most of the main cast of vampires is very cute, what may make you dismiss how bad they act. In a general evaluation, I find the movie passable for fans of the genre, that will have two hours of entertainment in a flick that had a necessary continuation in Vampires: Lucas Rising.
peterkhwanschura I hope there will be a continuation of this movie/season, "Vampires: Brighter in Darkness". It is a vampire/horror in the classical sense in that the terror is not like that of a Halloween/Friday the 13th type. Being a gay man I of course enjoyed the intimate scenes that are tastefully done. I like this film for these reasons, that and some of the tender/tactile/romantic scenes,(all three qualities of which I am a strong adherent of). The ending caught me completely off guard. I was expecting a fairy tale ending..."and they all lived happily ever after". In accordance with your guidelines re: "Spoiler", I will not elaborate further on the ending. But the ending is such that I would really hope there will be a continuation. I would like to see how this would develop into a really good series for those of us that enjoy this type of entertainment genre.
