raisleygordon "Waist Deep" has the look and feel of an urban crime drama, but it delivers with mild results. The kidnapping, the gang (and gang leader) just aren't on par with most movies of its ilk. One scene that I didn't think worked at all, is when our heroes try to obtain money (from the bank) that "Meat", the gang leader, is demanding. Coco and the bank manager (at least I think he was), are arguing over a check (I don't remember why). This goes on forever and doesn't amount to anything. Because the movie is so mediocre, I really didn't care what happened to whom. There is, however, a moment I did enjoy, which was a car chase, where our hero, O2, is desperately trying to evade the police. If only the rest of the movie were this exciting.** out of ****

escobar0813 Was expecting a whole lot more from Waist Deep. It had Larenz Tate famous for O-Dog in Menace II Society plus hip hop artist the Game. The movie was super soft. Never played real. Can't blame the actors on this one. I made the mistake of watching the bonus footage with the director and producer talking about the movie. They had no idea what made a real gangster movie. Comparing cars to characters was insane. Been better if they paid more attention to what was happening in the movie then worrying about the car a certain character drove. The whole movie was silly. To bad that Larenz Tate and Game had to be involved. This was watching a director who should be doing after school specials putting out a gangster movie. What nailed the 5 for the movie was the actors.

redeyethug187 this movie isn't that good it is one of those movies that you could probably wait until it comes on hbo or something not worth buying some people here thought this was the best movie but obviously they don't watch movies or know about any good ones the game can't act and the girl just wasn't good either it was not a movie for theaters it should have gone straight to DVD it wasn't a believable drama or action flick but thats what you would expect but I think they promoted it too much. The ending was one of the worst getting chased by the cops while his friend dies then going in the river and the next he's in Mexico it's a long swim that movie just needs a rewrite or a better director all in all don't waste your money.

bnally62191 spoilers awful, horrible, el sucko, stupid, the ending sucked, horrible acting, typical, constant, doesn't make sense, i wish tyrese died, the action sucked, why do you need to buy gas to use the bathroom?, how come every person in the film was a gangster including the pre school teacher?, there's no way he would've survived the crash. these are terms that might describe this movie if you watched it. It had potential. Just a little potential but it was all thrown away by the horrendous acting and story. Larenz Tate is the only good one and he ends up dying. It is quite a typical movie, just like cradle 2 the grave. About a "gangster" who loves their kid and the kid gets kidnapped for money, at the end after a few bad jokes and mediocre action, they get the kid back. At the end of this one, Tyrese gets stopped by the cops and decides to pull a Thelma and Louise by driving around sixty five miles an hour into a river. Well I guess he's god or something cause he ends up living somehow, which keep in mind, at that speed is impossible considering how he landed. This film has probably the worst ending I have ever seen in a film and should be outlawed in every single part of the world. The writer should swallow a active grenade and hug the director.
