Reviews

KingJaz B. I rate Shows out of 5 categories as you will see through out the review 1. Characters - Henry Hart/Kid Danger - Henry Hart is bland. His personality is well... bland. His room is somewhat interesting but nonetheless, bland. His look and clothing is bland. He is bland. Kid Danger is a whole other story. Cheesy and Cringy. The name alone is garbage. Kid Danger, really? Does he have a superhero friend named, Female Fighter cause that is lazy writing. Anyways Kid Danger's jokes are cheesy and cringy. They sometimes make me wanna throw away my T.V. NextRay Manchester/Captain Man - Just like Henry Hart, Ray is bland. Enough said. Captain Man is Goofy and Cringy. And not goofy in a good way. But seriously again Captain Man? And his Mancave is in Junk 'n' Stuff. What does he live of Road Street. What nautical nonsense is this even, Lazy Writing. Jasper Dunlop - Your typical bad goofball character who gets beat up for no reason. He does get treated with respect at times but still sucks. Charlotte Bolton - She is your average sassy girl in these types of shows. She adds nothing new to the table. Just a stereotypePiper Hart - This is were I can star tearing things up. PIPER IS THE MOST OBNOXIOUS THING EVER TO BE ON MY T.V. SCREEN. She is an ungrateful little crap who gives no f***s about anyone else but her friends and herself. I just wish that John Cena would AA her off their roof. No, she still wouldn't learn anything. Piper screams at any giving moment and I can't find anything interesting in that. I just wish I could grab a crowbar and beat her to a bloody pulp. Plots - The plots are very wacky and out of this world. While you can pull these off right. The only one that worked was the Bucket Trap. Watch it your self. It's the only thing worth while on this sorry excuse for a show. Comedy - There is non. It's labeled as a comedy with no comedy. It is all just cringe. How great. Pacing - The pacing is slow, but at other times fast paced. There is no middle ground which just sucks. When the pacing needs to be slow for the episode to work, it's fast and vice versa. It's a very poor aspect of this showEntertainment- The characters are either bland or bad or sorry excuses. The plots can't work for nothing. The comedy is non existent. The pacing is crap. There is no entertainment value out of this show. What am supposed to do. This show can be summed up as a quick thing for Nickelodeon to create a quick buck. Man I feel bad for this generation. Older generations got Salute Your Shorts, All That, Pete and Pete, Kenyan & Kel, Zoey 101, Unfabulous, Ned's Declassified, Drake & Josh, iCarly. Nick used to put so much care into their shows and now they give no crap if their shows are good. I am disappointed in you Nickelodeon. Skip this show. Don't watch it. Your better off watching paint dry. At least that has depth.
Victor Wainaina I rarely watch Nickelodeon. The only times that I do is when my sister comes over on holidays and she hogs the TV. I have to say that out of all the live-action shows currently airing (Game Shakers, School of Rock, Thundermans and others), Henry Danger is one of my favourites. The show is beautifully self-aware and both the situations they face and the dialogue reflect that it's a show that's just for fun. I love cheesy plots and lines as long as someone knows that they're being so. And this show is definitely that. From plots involving villains who're harvesting beetle tears to the hero's name itself (Captain Man. Oh jeez how I laughed when I first heard that). This show isn't serious. It has a sorta campy feel to it and I love how the writers seem to have fun with each episode and situations that the characters are in. Watch, enjoy, laugh. It definitely has its drawbacks, but I felt like no-one really explained the good in it, so I hope this helps.
n-27785 I'll say this first: I'm a girl in my teens, and I don't find humor about kids being stupid and stuff funny.I didn't start watching the show until recently when my sister put it on in our hotel room. It was the episode that took place in the candy store, "Mouth Candy" I think. I didn't expect to like it, but I actually really did. Henry reminds me a lot of myself, as in, I always try to do the right thing, and if I screw something up, I will do everything in my power to fix it. I'm also dense, so...The humor surprised me. I know it makes the kids kind of stupid, excluding Charlotte, and I hate that kind of thing, but I actually thought it was rather funny. This show is full of stereotyping, children's jokes, and adult/current culture jokes, and I appreciate it. I didn't fully start watching the show until I saw the episode "Love Muffin." Never thought that Nickelodeon would *SPOILERS* make a guy fall in love with another guy on a show, but this really made me like it! Yeah, that's kind of weird, but whatever.I enjoy the premise of the show, and the way the story is set up is interesting for me. I know this show is getting a lot of hate, and so is Dan Schneider for not making another good show like iCarly, Zoey 101, or Drake and Josh. I'm more open minded about shows, which is probably why I liked it so much. I can't fully explain it, but all I can say is that I, someone who usually hates this kind of humor, enjoyed the show very much.Never thought I'd say it, but I really recommend this show. Well done Dan.
Zoya Aishi Normally, I'd watch Dan Schneider's work and find amusement in some of it. As with anyone who had heard his name over the years, you think back to iCarly or even Drake & Josh(arguably some of his best work, though I'm not a fan of iCarly). Yeah, Schneider knew little of technology and pop culture at times and just had the actors randomly tapping on keyboards to look like they were using a computer(even if they were simply watching a video and didn't really need to type much of anything), but there was a charm to these shows that showed that while they were limited in some categories, Dan didn't let it stop him from creating hit shows.I see none of that here....Here we have another sitcom superhero show(as if the Thundermans wasn't bad enough), where a boy in a town called "Swellview" works for a superhero whose only power is that he is immune to getting hurt. Okay...it's generic and borderline stupid, but that isn't what bugs me. The acting is one of it's weak-points in the show for me. Yeah the setting is utter crap and doesn't connect in any way to the universe of Dan's previous works, but the acting...is atrocious.First off, Jace Norman is...decent...for the most part. He'll probably be a child actor everyone will forget in two to three years unless Nickelodeon chooses to shoehorn him into more stuff. For the most part, I find him duller than dish water as Henry Hart. The family Henry has probably irritates me the most to see on-screen for the most part, but it's like family guy where you'll rarely ever have an episode with just Brian and Stewie with the rest of the family not appearing in any way. Basically you have two absentee parents who do little to control their children unless they are forced to act like parents for the sake of the plot, and nothing more. Other than that, the little sister is a poor representation/role model of children in today's era. Essentially, Henry's sister shows that you can get what you want if you physically assault other people and scream at levels that most normal neighbors would call the police for. She's a character that holds no substance like the parents and could actually be written off the show without drastic changes(they could say Piper got sent to a school to learn the obedience her parents failed to teach). The rest of the cast is essentially cardboard and I could care less about anyone, including Perm-kid and his weird fetish for...buckets.Also, if you're writing a superhero show, quit focusing on the character's everyday life in a show where his job makes his routines more interesting. No one wants to see Henry make unfunny jabs at his perm-friend while the film crew struggles to figure out how to fix the laugh track button(it apparently seems to be jammed since it goes off too much). Most hero shows render the everyday lives of the heroes as a side-plot, which ends up resolved and if possible, teaching the character a lesson. Here, half of Swellview could get decapitated on a live stream and Henry wouldn't have learned a thing other than the fact that Captain man creepily lets unsupervised kids into his hero lair.I'm not arguing that this show be cancelled, but I think that the writers should re-evaluate their scripts before filming an episode. Therefore, I give this show a 3 out of 10 simply as a glimmer of hope.
