Reviews

Ryan Basically if you recognize any of these creatures in the opening theme song, congratulations you are nerd like me and will become entranced maybe even binge watch it. If you didn't, well you should probably just not watch it. Finish the sentence: Puppets have : A.) the possibility of being cool if created properly B.) the ingenious of their artists and creators to shine through art C.) are lame as hell. If you picked (C) stop right there and just stop reading this review and go watch some off season NFL rerun of a playoff game, maybe even NHL if things get boring enough ------ If you answered (A) or (B) then to my nerd homies I say Brian Henson and Henson Studios are cool as hell! And these job applicants put fourth a huge dedication to supporting Henson's genetic legacy to bestow adorable and fascinating creatures upon this world. Creatures that expand the mind and entertain kids of all ages.
CinematicThylacine This show so far has been very promising, with a great lineup of contestants that have put out some freaking awesome creature designs! To put this in perspective, the first "costumes"/puppets done in the first episode look almost better then most of the make-ups done during the season finales of FaceOff. As of now I feel confident to say that this might turn out to be an even better show then FaceOff, simply because the creature designs are so much more unique and interesting then those typically shown on FaceOff. The Fire Prawn and Skutterbug deep-sea creatures are perfect examples of the amazing things a skilled artist can do with fabric, tin- foil, foam, and other materials. In an Era of overused CGI and blue- screen effects it's nice to see a show that champions practice creature effects and awesome old-school puppetry. I'm definitely hooked on this show, this is now officially going to be the new highlight of my Tuesdays!
