Reviews

dlbartdlb This show has great dancing but it is clearly rigged. there is no way that les twins should have won the competition. they were not the best week after week and the final show was so obviously predetermined. one twin had a leg injury and sat in a wheel chair the whole time. there was no dancing. not only that,,week after week the best dancer(s) got sent home. i even overheard one conversation with one judge disputing the panel decision...but he voted with the panel anyway
natemoney Hope the hosts enjoyed their last season. All of America wanted Eva Igo (an actual American) to win and all of America now thinks the judges fixed the outcome. The fact that the twins who had a technically flawed routine with little to no synchronization yet still won has the entire group I watch with feeling cheated and having a bad taste in their mouths.
mchaya This show started good. I was really impressed with the contestants, until... the final and the cut. It was very clear who were the judges favorite and who were not. I kept watching the show even after I disagree with the scores during the cut. However, the last final episode killed it for me. Starting with Kinjaz vs Swing Latinos, when Jlo started crying during Swing Latinos comment, you know how much she wants this group to head to final. Not so much because of their performance, but maybe cause they represent another country? Then the infamous Les Twins performance. When Neyo scored Keoni and Mari, in which was their best performance, a "100", she was like "You think that was perfect?". And then when Les Twins performed, mind you on a wheelchair, with a lackluster performance compared to their earlier performances, she gave a "99"??? Seriously Jlo? I always adore game competition, but when it's rigged from the start, it takes the fun out of it. Now let me go back to my "So you think you can dance".
playnasc **SPOLIERS**I really wanted to like this show, and the lineup for Season 1 seemed pretty promising. However, the major flaw in this show are the judges (specifically JLo). The judges change their criteria for scoring every week and it can vary from improvements from last performance, innovation, or overall wow factor. There is no "set" scoring criteria for what the judges should base their scores off of, its basically based off on how each judge is feeling that day. For example, the Jabbawockeez lost because the judges were looking for "something new" since the Jabbawockeez have such a successful past and diverse portfolio. However, other dancers were scored off of how well they performed at the duel in question and not judged against their past. Unfair reasoning and judging like this is what makes this show lose all of its credibility. Now the reason why I called out JLo at the beginning was because she plays favorites. The most recent episode (8/1), had Swing Latino beat the Kinjaz. This elimination infuriated me the most because Swing Latino do not deserve to be in the division finals, but JLo has carried them to where they are today by continuously giving them high scores. On top of that JLo ACTUALLY EMPLOYED Swing Latino for her performances in the past (American Music Awards 2013,2015) and if this isn't blatant bias then I don't know what is. Now if you happen to think my review is bias then I think you should look at the polls and comments on the World of Dance Youtube and Twitter pages. Many viewers just like me have watched this show go downhill and expressed their frustration throughout these bias episodes. If this show had fan voting, the clear winners would move on every week and none of this controversy would exist today. The only credible judge here is Derek but Neyo and JLo gotta go.
