Synopsis

Rocko is a wallaby who has emigrated to America from Australia. He lives in O-Town and tries to get through life but, of course, comes across a multitude of dilemmas and misadventures he must get through. Other characters include Rocko's best friend, Heffer, a steer who has been raised by wolves, Filbert, a paranoid hypochondriac turtle, Rocko's faithful (but none-too-bright) dog Spunky, and Ed Bighead who detests Rocko and hates having him for a next door neighbor. On this show, Rocko has such adventures as trying to adapt to a new vacuum cleaner, having Heffer move in temporarily after his parents kick him out, and going to a movie theater.

Realrockerhalloween An instant Nichaolden classic that deals with the misadventures of an Australian Wallabie and his two best friends Helfer and filbert.Anamorphic animals that live in O'town USA getting through life and getting caught in the daily lives of the kooky neighbors. The humor derives from double meaning, sarcasm, mean spirited dreams and ironies of the situation at hand. Each episode feels new as they go fishing, deal with space aliens or even travel into the future without aging in deep space. What really sets it apart from other cartoons besides going on forever is the mention or return of recurring characters like the bigheads, Melva the postwoman and friendly little elves that help create a fascinating world where anything can happen if you dream it.A good thing got me since I liked all the new additions, never felt over used and had their own unique charm each time they visited.Rocko may have never won any awards or special recognition it did lead the way in Adult cartoon entertainment that fills adult swim each night. The social commentary added an interesting aspect that are a treat For adult like Rocko having to get married or be deported and cleaning up the forest For the next generation. The animation and pop references may be dated, but it was always a parody of real life anyway and it will just your fit to see Richard Simmons doing the butt press. For a show the writer never had faith in it was a staple in my childhood and brings back wonderful memories when I bought it during its first time ever release on DVD.There never will be another cartoon this interesting again.10/10
GravityLoudHouseLover1 Hey Guys It's me Regularshow1 here and Today I'm going to talk about 90s Nicktoon Called "Rocko's Modern Life". This show is a about a wallaby named Rocko who live the surreal town O-town where he tries to live his normal life witch weird things happen. The show was Created By: Joe Murray who also made Camp Lazlo for Cartoon Network. My Favorite episode is probably the Halloween episode "Sugar Frosted Frights" which remember seeing on Nickelodeon on Halloween 2004. This also had adult jokes like the episode "Leap Frogs" where Miss BigHead was trying to seduce Rocko. I never saw this episode until I got Netflix. Anyway "Rocko's Modern Life" was a great show and I'm giving it 10 out 10 stars. Anyway Guys this RegularShow1 signing off. BYE.
mattiasflgrtll6 This was from a time where not every animated kids show had to be made with the same boring, uncreative "impressive" graphics done by a computer. You just can't beat old-fashioned cel animation. But that's not what I want to talk about the most here. When I first saw an episode of this, "Fly Burgers", I wasn't particularly impressed. I thought it tried too hard to be slapstick, zany and quirky. But then I gave it a few more episodes and you know what? It's really good. This show is LADEN with all kinds of obvious to not so obvious innuendos, social satire, disturbing themes... well, you get the idea! I'm not saying it's not a great cartoon for kids, it's just that teens and older will find it even funnier, since there's so much more than just slapstick comedy, even though I got to appreciate it a lot more later. Carlos Arlasraqui does a very charming voice for the main character Rocko and while the cast of side characters might not be the most impressive, the ones that show up are well-written and funny. Also, if you look closer, you can see a few connections between this and the show SpongeBob. Stephen Hillenberg who created that show is one of the writers, Tom Kenny who voiced the main character there voices Heffer here and Mr. Lawrence who does additional voices there does the voice as Filbert! Pretty cool, isn't it? With everything from talking colons and clothes coming to life to Mr. Bighead coming out of the closet as clown (wink, wink) to two of the main characters visiting Hell! Like, I said, not really a kids show, is it? ;) If you haven't checked this gem out yet, go ahead and watch some episodes right away, you won't regret it!
zzzac-873-166168 When most kids at my school think of 90s Nick, they think of rugrats, hey Arnold and All That. Me: Rocko's Modern Life! Rocko' s Modern Life is one of the best cartoons of the 90's, and it deserves a lot more credit than people give it. The show focuses on the life of a talking wallaby who immigrated to America from Australia. His friends Heffer(a steer, not a cow!) and Filbert, a turtle, help him survive on his crazy adventures. The series is known for its adult humor. Every episode had "Chokey Chicken" restaurants in it. Really really big man and his magic "nipples of the future. In "the emperor's new Joe" the chameleon bros tell rocko of the city of "ballzack". The episodes "schnit-heads" and "who gives a Buck?" are pretty self explanatory. Literally every episode has sexual humor in it. There is a banned episode called "leap frogs" where rocko's neighbor Mrs bighead tries to have sex with him. One episode I think is worse than leap frogs is the episode "Flu-In-U-Enza", a rarely talked about episode. The episode has blood splatter, a guy dies from smoking a cigarette, doctor bend-ova literally grabs rocko's balls three times, a hot dog rips off rockos scalp and the moment that made my jaw drop was one that challenged even Ren and Stimpy. Rocko got high off a butt pill then barfs in a toilet. My god, who gave this show a TV-Y rating. Does that description even sound like its from a kids show? This show really should be rated TV-PG, it rivals PG shows like Ren and Stumpy and Regular Show despite being rated TV-Y. I will never understand why it has its current rating. But that's one of the reasons I enjoy Rocko so much, now as a teenager I get all the jokes that flew over my head. This show is even an ancestor for several shows today. Spongebob and camp lazlo are made by the same crew and more than 10 shows have some link to this show. The guys who play heffer and Filbert on rocko play sponge bob and plankton. But this show trumps them all and in my opinion one of the best cartoons of the 90s. And I don't know why so many people think this is a "Ren and stimpy ripoff". This show has anthropomorphic animals as the people of earth, while Ren and stimpy are anthropomorphic pets in a world with people in it. Well Ren and Stimpy is a Tom and Jerry ripoff because it also has two anthropomorphic pets in a human world also. Also so the idea for Rocko started in the late 80s before Ren and stimpy came out. They are both great shows but come on, rocko deserves better than that.I also cannot believe how underrated this gem is. And I have never heard anyone talk about this show, its all sponge bob this and rugrats that. I wish more people knew about this show, it better than ANY cartoon that came after it. It is funnier than that overrated family Guy, that's for sure. It must have been 10 years last time I saw this on Nick, which really breaks my heart. Im also sad at what Nick has become, basically a second Disney channel. I wish they would show classic series like this instead of icarly, all these kids have is sponge bob and a bunch of tween girly crap. Rocko's Modern Life should be revived, it would probably be a major success!10/10 ROCKOS MODERN LIFE!
