TheLittleSongbird The first film was a very likable and fun movie, which is more than I could say for this sequel, which was very disappointing. Drake(with decent vocal work from Robby Benson) was a good enough character, though Draco was much more likable and imposing, the CGI is fairly impressive and the score while basically a rehash is very good. However, the sets and costumes are rather tacky, the pacing is very uneven, the story is clichéd with scenes that are severely lacking in life, the action sequences is done with little or no heart, the climax is rushed and uninspired, the script is weak and the acting is not good at all. And was there anyone else who didn't like the character of Osric, as a villain he was nothing special, and he never convinced really as a villain. He was ambitious yes, but he was nothing more than that. Overall, disappointing and clumsy, definitely not the worst sequel I have seen, but it doesn't hold a candle to the much superior original. 3/10 Bethany Cox
Christian Eberle This "movie" is just AWFUL! Sequels like this should be forbidden, because such movies are just made, because the original Film was a Blockbuster. I hate movies that destroy the spirit of the first film. Highlander 2 is another good example for that. Bad Animation, ridiculous Actors and Story (Asians in the medieval Europe...). To the middle ages: Where the original did a great job creating an quite authentic atmosphere etc. this thrashy rip-off felt more like an pumped up version of xena or this absolute horrible new adventures of robin hood series which should also be forbidden.
Mjolnir_ *MAYBE POSSIBLE SPOILER* Sorry, but I'm afraid to say I disliked this movie. I've seen Dragonheart many, many times (which isn't really a children's movie), but when I saw this one, was surprised to see that's what it is. A children's movie, I mean. No appearance by Pete Postlethwaite doesn't help, either. And since when did dragons breathe ice? You'd think the fire and ice would cancel out or explode or something, but anyway, If you liked Draco in Dragonheart, see this one because Drake (The young dragon) is the only similarity to the first film. And even then, only marginally. 1.5 out of 5.
pksky1 I'm sure everyone who loved the first Dragonheart were most taken by the breathtaking presence of Draco, the consequence of some very successful work on the part of his animators. The first appearance of his successor in this film is bound to be a bit of a shock, because the animation is not the equal of Draco. That being said, everything else about Dragonheart II is equal to the first. It's a clever and very original story with a great cast and even our dragon has a lot of personality despite the limited graphics. If you loved the first Dragonheart, you can learn to love the second one too.
