Brian T. Whitlock (GOWBTW) It's hard to remember the friend you once had a child. But when times change, you meet new people and hang around them more. So after high school, you would celebrate with them. Then there's the friend who you knew back when you were young and forgot about that one. Sandy(Carly Schroeder), and her brother Eli(Cody Linley) attend a party, joined by a friend who goes to the graveyard and play a game. The mysterious girl suddenly stands out the edge off a cliff, and falls back. After calling the police, no one can find the body. What's more bizarre? Each of Sandy's friends die one by one. When one friend dies, no one remembers that person. How come Sandy knows that person when the other friend doesn't? Seems also that her own brother is like against her than with her. That mysterious girl is named Angela. Only Sandy is her best friend. This is not your typical run of the mill horror film. It's not a slasher. But it's still gruesome in many ways. I Liked when Barbara Bain plays the nun. Full mostly on unknown actors and actresses, I liked it very much. So don't cut this horror movie down, remember the flower, remember that friend who you once had fun with. Just don't bump your head on this film. 2 out of 5 stars.
Coventry When I installed myself in front of the TV to watch "Forget Me Not", I was simply expecting a brainless teen-slasher with hot gals parading around in too tight tops and hopefully a little bit of gory massacres too boot; no more, no less. That's also exactly what I received, but – surprisingly enough – the film also had a few neat ideas and twists in store. Like about half of all the horror movies ever made, "Forget Me Not" initially seems to revolve about a group of friends that pulled a prank on someone, but their plan somehow backfired and had irreversible consequences. Now, several years later, they're getting killed one by one. Formulaic stuff, of course, but there are two plot aspects that distinguish from the vast majority of slashers. Number one, the murders aren't committed by a ridiculously masked lunatic, but by eerie ghostly creatures that strangely resemble their already departed buddies. Secondly, and this I personally found quite inventive, once one of the group members is slaughtered, his or her entire existence appears to be erased and the remaining survivors (except for the lead girl Sandy) don't remember anything about them. This ingenious little gimmick leads to a handful of tense and compelling sequences, like when Sandy hysterically attempts to remind the others about their friends, but they just get the impression she's going mad. The "prank" sub plot is also fairly atmospheric and nicely built up, but lacks a proper explanation and logic, for example how did the orphan girl obtain these mysterious powers? With a reasonably ambitious screenplay like this, it's somewhat of a shame that writer/director Tyler Oliver nevertheless only put annoying stereotypes in it, like the slutty girls and muscled jocks. Kudos on the casting of the actresses, as they are all extremely sexy, but a little nudity would have been welcome. Worth a viewing.
Brian BarrSinister First of all, if you actually enjoy this film and you are over the age of 18, you should probably raise your artistic standards (for lack of a better phrase)just a bit. This movie suffers from a number of problems, not the least of which, are its bodacious use of clichés and flat-lined characters that we have all seen hundreds of times (and probably better executed)over the years. The actual story had potential in the hands of a competent film maker, and the special blood effects were pretty well done. HOWEVER, the awful monster effects are something you can see on any youtube facial transformations videos and FAR sub-par for a so-called movie. I hated the majority of the one dimensional characters immediately, and the only one I was convinced might have been modeled from a realistic personality-type was the younger brother. From the exaggerated, MTVish usage of the terrible soundtrack to accentuate the recklessness of the 'typical teen' archetype, to the bogus reactions of the characters in various situation ( see: the cop and his daughter...yeah riiiiight)this movie utterly fails. I'm pretty sure any real horror fan with access to a laptop and track board could have made a superior production. Seriously, if you are able to make it through this entire nonsensical movie I commend you for your resilience and shake my head at your having voluntarily wasted your time on this turd of a movie.
Paul Celano (chelano) I don't get films like this. They had the scare factor because when the people who die come back as demons, they are really creepy looking. Then they had an amazing story. It just fit together from the start to the end. But here is the problem. They add bimbo actors and actresses. People who just cannot act. I understand some of the girls are in there to just be eye candy. Jillian Murray is a good example since she basically plays a slut. But you would think that some of the more main characters would know how to act. This movie was basically about getting laid and oh yeah; demons. It was like you combined a really bad teen movie and an excellent horror film. I really hated the acting, but I couldn't turn off the film for the fact that the story was too good and I wanted to see the ending. So great special effects with a nice scare factor, great story, very bad acting.
