hajirabood I gave this movie a rating of 5 because there is nothing new about this movie it just a typical romance movie where a guy does not realize that he have fall in love with his best friend and when he decide to tell her, she introduce to her finance. Then competition happen between the two guys and of course the other guy win first but later the girl realize she had made a mistake and run away from her weeding to meet her true love or in case of this movie he ran to the church to tell her how much he love her and she realize that and marry him. really nothing you missed in this movie, the performance of the lead roles is an average. do not waste your time
Davis P Made of honor (2008) is very cute romantic comedy starring Michelle Monaghan and Patrick Dempsey. With these kind of movies you have to take it and look at it and enjoy it for what it is. You know that it's going to be predictable and you know that there's not gonna be any big twist endings or surprises. But when you're watching this movie you really don't care about that and you really don't wish that there was any big surprises, I mean when you really think about it, what could they do that would be a good surprise? The two romantically leads Patrick Dempsey and Michelle Monaghan are both good in their roles. Patrick at first is kind of a player and avoids any kind of real commitment with any woman, but then when he realizes he's falling for his best friend Michelle Monaghan all of that changes. And Michelle really is just the cute sweet typical romantic comedy woman, and that's not a bad thing because that's charming and it works for this film. They both have good on-screen romantic chemistry together and it seems to flow naturally. The writing is kind of mediocre in some places, then it has some pretty funny lines, and then it has some truly endearing heartwarming moments. If you typically like romantic comedies then I would suggest this one for your viewing, however if you don't like them usually then I would steer clear of this.
TheLittleSongbird I am not the biggest fan of romantic comedies/chick flicks, but there have been some I have genuinely enjoyed. Made of Honour, while I have seen much worse, is not one I enjoyed. It is worth noting for some striking production values and a beguiling soundtrack, other than that it is a miss.My problems with this movie starts with the title, please, that pun of a title is appalling and even thinking about it makes me cringe. And I had exactly the same perception even before seeing the movie. Another major problem is that the characters are not sympathetic or likable in the slightest, the lead character especially is a complete sleaze-ball. Also the characters here are little more than cliché after cliché and bland stereotypes.A lot of plots in romantic comedies are predictable, here is no exception. But this plot is also unrealistic and clichéd, and in terms of the pace and direction the film is a slog. I also disliked the ending, not only was it as predictable as the rest of story but it was also pure fantasy of the highest order. The acting is not very good unfortunately, like I couldn't connect to any of the characters I don't think a vast majority of the actors could connect with them either. There is one good performance and that comes from Sydney Pollack, but Patrick Dempsey while dashing is too earnest for the lead and Michelle Monaghan comes across as rather limited. Hardly surprising, with the dialogue being as terrible as it was.All in all, a daft, predictable and clichéd romantic comedy with a few good points. 3/10 Bethany Cox
dodson09 The theme of the movie Made of Honor is portraying that finding true love is not always right there in front of you, sometimes you have to fight for what you want. Finding true love is an obstacle for anyone but for Tom there are many things that try to get in his way but he doesn't let it. This movie shows you different ways that you can show affection and make best friends in the process. The story begins when two friends, Hannah and Tom, meet back up since they had graduated from high school. They get to know each other again and decide to remain best friends. After having dinner, they go out more often doing casual things such as going to the grocery store, getting flowers and shopping, but Hannah does all this knowing that Tom has a problem with commitment when it comes to the ladies. During all this time that Hannah spends with Tom she starts to develop feelings for him.As Hannah goes on a trip for her job in England, she meets a guy named Colin, who she falls madly in love with. When Tom goes to meet Hannah at the airport, thinking that he is going to get to tell her how much he loves her, she brings Colin to meet him and all her family. Tom doesn't know what to feel at this point in time. He knows that the chance of him ever getting to let her know how he really feels about her has just gone away. But he knows that for her sake he better put a fake smile on that face and be happy for her.Tom then decides that he needs to find out more about Colin, so he invites him to play a game of basketball with him and his buddies. Colin doesn't have very good luck at the game of basketball until he decides that he needs to show these guys how to play a real game. Colin then starts shooting slam dunks and shocking Tom and all the guys. During the game, Tom comes to the realization that Colin really does love Hannah and as long as she is happy that is all that matters. Hannah then wants Tom to be her Made of Honor. Tom doesn't know what to think but how in the world could he say no, this would be the perfect chance to spend more time with her and be right there for whatever she might need. Then, one of the bridesmaids that Hannah picks has to be one of the girls that Tom had a one night stand with so this should be quite the obstacle. After helping Hannah with all the wedding stuff, Tom goes to England where the wedding is going to be held at. He had already decided that he would never get to be with Hannah so he jumps in the bed with one of the bridesmaids and what do you know if Hannah didn't catch him with her while she was coming to tell Tom that she loved him too.Now Tom knew that it was over between Hannah and him and that there definitely would be no chance since Hannah had just seen his true colors. Tom decides to leave but with the good advice of Hannah's mother and all his friends he turns around and heads to the wedding, hoping that it's not too late. Tom jumps on a horse and rides away to go to the church. By the time that Tom makes it they hadn't said I do yet, so he rushes in and says "Hannah you can't do this", Tom is shaken up a bit by the drastic entrance he had made to the church, so when Hannah said "Tom are you okay?" He knew that she really still did care. Tom rises up and they both kissed. Tom and Hannah lived happily ever after. Even though Tom had a hard time fighting for his true love they both knew what each other wanted the whole time.A movie that portrays the same theme as Made of Honor is The Notebook. Made of Honor portrayed several different techniques such as camera angles and a zoom lens. These two techniques were used in two different scenes. The camera angle that was used is the high-angle shot. This is when the camera is shot high above eye level. This was done when the scene of England started. To get the full affect of the country, the camera angle had to be high enough to catch the full view. The other technique that was used is the zoom lens. This is when a series of lenses that keep an image in constant focus. This took place when Hannah was getting ready for her wedding. The camera just stopped on her so that the audience could see exactly what is portrayed as an England Wedding.
