Synopsis

A group of young bio-engineers discover they can use quantum physics to transfer motor-skills between human brains. Believing this to be a first step towards a new intellectual freedom, they freely distribute the technology. But as the mysterious past of one of their group is revealed, dark forces emerge that threaten to subvert this technology into a means of mass control. DxM takes the mind-bender thriller to the next level with an immersive narrative and breath-taking action.

jonathanpfeiffer As someone who is doing a Ph.D. through a well-know university and a background in consciousness studies/psychology/quantum theories, this move is amazing. The write of the story definitely did their homework before writing the script. Although there are some aspects of the story which may 'bend' science, overall, it is pretty accurate and deep. I was really impressed by the use of theory in the movie, as well as the many metaphors/allusions to hint at/highlight theories. Personally, I liked the 'religious' tone to this movie as studying consciousness to this degree does often lead to, at least, a query of 'god'. For those who are saying the move is meaningless 'bait-and-switch', I would have to recommend really delving into currect scientific literature, not through pop magazines, but through actual peer-reviewed journal articles.
Abi Alexanderr teetering between a 4 and a 5 for me; it's pretty, shallow, and confusing... weak plot built out of decent premise. it tries for the mindbendy wow that was managed in films like inception, but misses considerably... i feel like if you enjoyed "the cell" there's a chance you'll enjoy this... it is pretty, i'll give it that
andregs-87321 Its funny, saying this movie is a waste of time in a way is a spoiler. the movie seemingly wants you to leave with that conclusion. Its one of those experiences where at the credits end, you look around wonder what went wrong. You look around the empty theater that has continued to be empty from the moment you arrived and realized you were the only one in a 45 mile radius to fall for this. You look on the screen after credits, and see some 'intense dude' with his 'futurey' cover of "grapevine" on repeat for 15 minutes. You think back to the entire process that lead you there: when you first heard about the hype, the possibilities, the purchase of the twenty dollar tickets, and the thrill of driving 45 minutes to Greenville to see the film. And you find yourself feeling goop-ed out of your time and energy. YouTube does what this movie does on the reg.
Phillip Bryant Mindgamers was a huge let down for me. The movie was entirely way too long for such a simple premise, and I yawned through more than half the film. The technology is amazing, and I loved all of the ideas and possibilities that can/will come from it. The biggest let down was that I wasn't a part of the experiment, although it seemed that I would be when I paid as much as I did. The trailers were very misleading. I feel as though everything I saw in the theater was something I could have fully enjoyed in a five minute video on youtube. Thanks a lot Fathom, my birthday sucked.
