the_wolf_imdb I have never finished the movie, I'm too old for it. I have stopped to watch the movie in the very moment when one of the victim got a gun, pointed it at the bad guy and decided not to shoot. It happened after the bad guy injured several people and killed one and yet you have to listen to incredible dialog "If you hurt me you might be a killer." Well what are you going to do? Of course, as any new modern good guy you will give the bad guy another chance after another chance.Well, I would not wait a second and shoot at last two bullets to the torso and at least one bullet to the brain. Basically every victim in older movies from seventies would do that. But you know, these days the bad guys have rights and you have only one right: To suffer the consequences of your ineptitude.I assume the poor kids all died at the end. Well, they have deserved it. This is not a thriller, this is Darwinian game of some sort where the inept ones die. I have absolutely no sympathy for those who are not ready to fight. I have no time for that. This is a thriller for a new generation, for the generation that is not willing to fight. They might be scared. I'm only disgusted.
J Bartell I guess I am having a hard time understanding why anyone would make this movie. 107 minutes of brutality and torture. For what? I understand having this as a setup for the payoff but THERE ISN'T ONE! Yes, the movie was suspenseful at times but it dragged on forever and the pacing was horrible. About an hour in I started fast forwarding it to get it over with. I really wish I had the time i spent watching this back, And BTW, what happened to the note/signed message she left at the store? Nothing? More wasted time. It's like someone took "Taken", took out all the exiting and rewarding parts and just made a version where the kidnappers win. And by the third time the driver survives what should be crippling injuries it just got ridiculous. A complete waste of time and effort.
revenge_of_shinobi The best thing you can say about this film is that the acting is great. All the characters are likable and believable...except one. It's pretty much what you might expect with a high concept film. The problem is that the concept is not a monster, an asteroid or a shark. It's a bus. They actually managed to make a half decent film with such a low concept idea in 'devil' , but in this film it doesn't work. The plot is riddled with holes, the twists are predictable, and that's what really drags the film down. Instead of being drawn in you constantly think to yourself ..'but why didn't he do that?' or ' I would'a done this' etc etc.By the end it went into another direction but i didn't care I switched off early.
mdarmocida The movie starts out pretty good and I have to say its well acted and will keep you fairly entertained for the first forty minutes or so. However half way through the victims start turning the tables, not once, not twice, not three times, but four times (maybe more, I wasn't really counting) and don't kill this guy or incapacitate him to the point where he is no longer a danger. Their refusal to do this is stunning considering he severed all the fingers in one guy's hands, ran over the other guy, almost suffocated one girl, and had the first guys throat slashed. Despite his ineptness, the villain couldn't fail because he had everything going for him (his victims were incredibly stupid, he had more lives than Michael Myers, and he had superhuman powers that allowed him to survive and heal whenever he got hurt along with the ability to magically show up in the right place at the right time throughout the entire movie). By the end of the movie I was cheering for the villain because the supposed hereon was so inept I figured she deserved to die. Thank God the movie ended the way it did, because it would have been very frustrating, and even more unbelievable, if she was able to pull off an escape in the 11th hour (when it was more impossible than ever) considering that she had multiple opportunities throughout the movie and refused to act. At least she stayed consistent and didn't finish the guy off in her final attempt. On the other hand, the villain was pretty inept also in that he allowed his victims to gain the upper hand so many times that it was making me dizzy. Heck, there's one scene that shows a drawer full of drivers licenses of all the women that this guy abducted over the past five years. How could this have been? After five years of experience these two girls got the upper hand so many times that I can't believe no one had overtaken this guy in his prior attempts. Basically, this movie was like watching a battle between dumb and dumber and wondering which one would come out on top.
