robertbisceglia This is a beautifully shot film, the camera work was very good. The movie plot is simple and easy to understand. This is a good paranormal, zombie movie with a simple plot, evil surgeon comes back from the dead and kills all who enter the house by the cemetery. I like how the movie moves quick too. The dead girl play with Bobby was kind of corny and hard to believe at times but the cast acted quite well.
aw1963 I honestly don't get other reviewers who call this tripe a 'masterpiece',it is indeed one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Perhaps it lost something in the awful English dubbing, but I seriously doubt it. All the characters are just plain weird, right up to their reactions to other family members in danger, the husband who stands watching as his wife is attacked by a bat to the mother who forgets to go racing to her son when he's in distress and almost takes a stroll to get there, don't even get me started on characters who do nothing when they are being poked in the chest and neck, having their throats slashed and ripped out,or,don't try to grab something as they are being slowly dragged down stairs. The plot itself is so full of holes it could be used as a collander, and, even for it's time the fx are truly, truly awful. Do yourself a big favour and stay awaay from this incredible stinker.
jacksflicks It's pretty discouraging to see so many idiots in one place, giving this thing 10 stars and calling it a masterpiece. There is NOTHING redeeming about it. Someone asked if it's a slasher film or a zombie film. It's a garbage film. It reminds me of the little stunt they did for the Halloween party in third grade, playing a recorded horror story in a darkened room while passing around raw chicken parts. The storyline is inane, the editing is crummy, of course the voices are dubbed. The gore is gore for its own sake unconnected to whatever it's emerging from. The candidate for worst movie ever made is Manos, the Hands of Fate. This one is just as bad, but without the unintended humor. The continuous and gratuitous gore makes this mess impossible to watch except to those like the infants at the Halloween party, a kind of cult following for spaghetti slasher movies. Getting off on stuff like this isn't so sick as it is mediocre.
Darth-Helmet When a New York family moves to a small town where they found the perfect place to stay, it's a nice looking mansion. However the child has a special psychic gift of seeing a girl that warns him not to move into the house but he didn't listen, the house had terrible things that occurred once by a sick mad doctor named Freudstein who conducted horrible atrocious experiments on people. Now the family has moved in, weird supernatural occurrences keep popping up and the guests are starting to disappear one by one in a bloody way. Ghastly, spooky and gory as hell haunted house/zombie thriller from Italy's horror maestro Lucio Fulci is one of his greatest hits yet! it's also his scariest besides "The Beyond". Sure the plot lacks coherence but the dark atmosphere, a pulse pounding score, and graphic sequences of violence & gore such as skull-stabbing and a demonic bat being mutilated by scissors. The film contains that H.P. Lovecraft-like feel that Fulci would sometimes throw into his supernatural movies as this movie is a prime example, it mixes both the haunted house and zombie movie genre into one movie and it's a clever idea. Lucio Fulci makes a nice cameo appearance in this movie so look for him, this is one of my all time favorite horror movies and a must see for fans of the genre but not for the squeamish or those easily frightened.
