Reviews

David Werwolf (Primus_Gladius) I am watching this series just now, on sick leave and I was searching for something new to watch. I must say, it is absolutely great show, with depth, and if one watches through it, this show ask some basic fundamental questions, every person should think of, and as him / herself. But the problem with corporate sociopaths is that they only see the money, and money is in reality shows, and series which basically are stupefied, shallow and fundamentally made in the same clichéd ways. Thus this show is canceled and so many others that are really crappy are still being made, even thou they should have been canceled after first few parts. I like a Sci-Fi shows, but there are very few out there which are good. Some people compare it with shows like Star Trek, or are hang up on trivial things, which are not even an issue. It is SCI-FI - - and science can be a bit made up. I mean first parts of Star Trek were Sci- Fi, made up and years later they became reality. So this problem so many smart behinds have, with communication delay. I would think that it is not a plot hole or an issue, because at the time this show is happening, these problems would be solved. "Your argument is invalid". Who knows what other advances we'll make, so bickering about trivial issues just shows that people miss the true depth of this show, the message. They actually have no "out of the box" thinking, nor they can actually think logically about Sci-Fi issues, ideas and fantasy - - - well sometime in the future - - our reality, even Star Trek is today science fiction - - but who's to say, that years from now, it would not be a reality in some form. We DEFINITELY are not alone - - that's for sure.I love the characters, their development, script, ideas, the camera work over all I like everything about this show, and I am very critical about "my shows".10/10 - - definitely
Michael S. Honestly, it is my first review at IMDb.com. I was so surprised by the low rating at 6.9 that I decided to write this review. This TV series deserves at least 9.0.For anyone who loves science-fiction TV series and space exploration in general, you will love this TV series. I am very surprised that it lasted only one season. The actors are really good. There is a beautiful love story, there is an intriguing science-fiction element that needs further inquiry, and the acting is basically excellent. There was so much potential to have several seasons with this TV series. It is a shame that it did not happen. Maybe it was costly to do, as the visual effects are also excellent. The only kind of difficult area is the way they explained the science-fiction element of this TV series. It is not done as clearly as it should have been and you have to wait quite a few episodes before you get clarification on this matter. In the meantime, enjoy the acting and the love story. If you like a good story, excellent acting, science-fiction elements, you will enjoy this TV series. I saw it once (13 episodes). Then, loving it so much, I watched it again a day later and I enjoyed it even more than the first time I watched it!!Here are mostly TV series and a few movies that I highly recommend, as I watched them and enjoyed them a lot.--------------------------------------------------------There are a few classics in science-fiction TV series:---Smallville---Star Trek: Enterprise---Babylon 5---Earth: Final Conflict---Battlestar Galactica---Star Wars (6 movies so far and counting)---Jupiter Ascending (a movie)all deserving 15 out of 10 because they are all very special TV series for the quality of their stories and for the amazing actors that they have. Are these TV series perfect? No, as they sometimes have "filler" episodes that are not too great and they also sometimes have "holes", illogical elements in the main story or in the individual stories of particular episodes. Despite sometimes the presence of these very few shortcomings, these TV series are really unique and special in many ways that you will nevertheless enjoy them greatly.Other TV series that are excellent but not necessarily science-fiction? Here is my list of other excellent TV series that you will appreciate a lot:--A few more science-fiction:---Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome (it is science-fiction)---Caprica (it is science-fiction)---Babylon 5: Thirdspace (it is science-fiction)---Space: Above and Beyond (it is science-fiction)---Defying Gravity (it is science-fiction)---The Tomorrow People (it is science-fiction)---The 100 (it is science-fiction)---Almost Human (it is science-fiction)--Non-science fiction:---24---24: Live Another Day---Dexter---The Vampire Diaries (it is fantasy I could call it)---Breaking Bad---Kyle XY (it is slightly science-fiction)---Nikita---Damages--------------------------------------------------------
soundtechpro First off....this show is not a Sci-Fi flick. This was one of the best shows to come along in years. It was told in such an intriguing way. It was about the human condition, the not so distant future of space travel and the human quest for seeking answers to what we do not know. It was just a joy to look forward to every episode and the show was laid out so it could have went for 5 seasons at least. The storyline was fantastic. The scripts well written, and the actors chosen were all fabulous and the cast meshed so realistically. I feel this was a missed opportunity by ABC. If you are going to have such a complex and wonderful show, you should give it at least two seasons because the Nielson's have never been correct. Look at franchise like Star Trek. Cancelled due to rating yet became on of the most popular shows of all time. I have tried for twenty years to become a Nielson household for ratings without success. I see so many bad shows that go for years while innovative works of art such as Defying Gravity get canceled after one season. Non the less, even though there is only one season you should watch this show and then write ABC and complain about canceling such an excellent series which wasn't allowed to come to fruition.
