ditimau The show was pretty lame. Thus, why we don't see it very often on MTV if at all. The biggest problem with the show was that it was rigged at the end, according to some of the producers. They couldn't tell who actually won that last fight and it caused a bit of a stink when they gave it to the winner cause he really didn't win scoring wise. So it remains more pseudo reality where the producers make minor "adjustments" to the story to create some sort of drama. Some of the segments where rigged in which the contestants' objectives weren't placed in the segment as so they wouldn't win. Dirty tricks I would say. In the long run 25K went to the wrong person. Don't waste your time with this unless it is four a.m. and they are blasting it on MTV2 and your on a commercial break form TBS.
ucastellanos I know that MTV only looks at the young and the beautiful in order to get good ratings for their shows. This show, Final Fu is a unrealistic look at what makes a real Martial Artist. Mr Ernie Reyes Jr. should know this! The fights are not practical.I don't think that going through these "so called" obstacle courses proves anything. I'm a martial artist. I train in American Kenpo and I've trained in Kajukenbo. I was very disappointed when I saw these episodes. I think they should have young as well as older martial artists. The fights should be more realistic, with head gear for head contact. The obstacle courses should be more realistic. These producers should stop looking at ratings and let the public see real Martial Artists!! DON'T SUPPORT THIS SHOW!!
debordster I watched the show for the first time the other day after my sister told me about it. I've been a martial artist for 15 years and I'm a third degree black belt. I thought the show was very entertaining. I've read a lot of peoples mixed comments. I've found the majority of them to be negative. This is not surprising to me. In the time I've been involved with martial arts I've found that martial artists in general are highly critical creatures. I respect Ernie Reyes Jr. and his fathers work. From just the one episode that I saw I was impressed by the level of athleticism displayed by the competitors. The fights were exciting. Although I would've at the very least liked kicks to the head to be legal. But in typical MTV fashion bloodied up Ken and Barbie dolls would have tarnished their polished image. I thought the show represented traditional martial arts in an entertaining but tasteful manner. If this show inspires someone to take up martial arts where they otherwise wouldn't have, then it's positive and should be around for a long time.
pczerwin I was quite enthusiastic abut the premise of this show. Unfortunately it was the opposite of what a show like this should be about. A show that reflects the true meaning of what it is like to be a martial artist. Instead it is filled with clearly bias judges who seem only interested in ratings and what "they" consider to be their favorites, instead of the martial artists who truly demonstrate their proficiency in their particular martial art.I will not watch this show again for for the promoters of this series, this is one customer, as well as her family, who will not support their products.
