Torrin-McFinn77 I didn't think much of this show until the middle of last decade but when I tried it it was really good. Action, not a lot of talking, suspense, thrills, a warrior with a sword (a former MadTV regular), and a master of darkness (who would later voice Uncle Iroh on Avatar: The Last Airbender); all combined for a good series. Plus, each episode focuses on a different theme. Aliens, Ancient Egypt, desert thrills, demons, gangsters, bounty hunters, and even a Scottish warrior. What a package!
tankace If I had to choose my favorite series of Cartoon Network then Samurai Jack would take the first place easily. This series mixed the samurai, with the post apocalypse and Tartakovsky and his team put their lives and souls to make perhaps the first animated series apart from anime with a truly cinematic feel. When I heard that the series would continue and end this year I hoped that the last 10 episodes would do justice to Jack and not only they did it but the series was stronger than ever and the ending though a bit rushed was fitting for a series like that. It has both a satisfying conclusion but also a feel of closing for you realize that this is it! As for the travels Jack had not a single one of the places he visited felt like a functional environment with culture, history ,even their own ecosystems and all that in just 25 minutes. The same applies to the characters Jack and we encounter ,they are quit memorable and some have backstories that will put your heart strings. To the fighting itself ,amazing it has been more than a decade that Jack was missing but his style and the struggles he has to pull through are the stuff of legends ,like the impact he has to each place he visits as we see in the final season. And as for the villain Aku ,the main villain has one of them most sadistic and at the time funny personality and this two aspect plain-ed excellently. In the end this series was part of my childhood and I remember it funnily and now that has a conclusive end I also fill like a part of my younger self had a conclusion about something that he loved to watch ,unlike with Prehistoric Park, Primeval, Justice League Unlimited, Wolverine and the X-men, Spiderman (1994) and Kyle XY.
Overseer-Penguin Seriously,I don't care if you don't know the ending, just don't watch the last season. I used to love this and it was a 10/10 for me,but this last season just turned it into a cliché mess with a shitty ending and I hate it.It could've been good, but nope. So please, save yourself from this let down
Eric Stevenson I remember back when this show first premiered over a decade ago and being swept away by how incredible it was. All I needed to see was the first couple of episodes to get hooked to this show. I think the best thing is probably the animation. I noticed and recalled the animators saying that they flat out omitted the usual black lines and simply show the bare colors. It was a pity this show ended before reaching an actual conclusion...that is until now over a decade later! I am simply overjoyed this show is finally back and there's probably no better time, seeing as how we're in a golden age of animation with this decade.Possibly the most fascinating thing about this show is how epic it is but yet how it manages to be fairly minimal. What I mean is that there's tons of great action scenes to spare and a huge scale of fighting, but yet there's only about two or three characters in the entire show! The main character Jack and his archenemy Aku. That's really all you need to know. Episodes always brought something different to the table with fantastic robot and creature designs. I hadn't even heard of the voice actor Mako before this and am sorry that he passed away before this show continued. It really does have a bit of everything. Some of the episodes seem a bit out of place. A couple don't fit much into the continuity and were more like self parodies. In a show that works wonderfully serious, the more light-hearted stuff works surprisingly well. As someone who watched a lot of "MadTV", it was weird for me to not recognize Phil LaMarr's voice. It's so wonderfully graceful. This show is basically just a beautiful montage of wonderful action scenes with perfect atmosphere. It may not have the most characters, but works great with what it has. ****
