They really should have gone were Lindsay Wagner works right now and asked her for her opinion on how to make a remake. I am pretty sure that one of her students would have produced a better remake than these Hollywood hacks. The first thing they did was take everything that made The Bionic Woman good and tossed it to the trash.Since when did it made any sense to have a woman in high heels run really fast. Never seen a regular woman run in heels so how is it even possible? The original one she had tennis shoes on. There also seemed to be a lack of detail on the story line. Most of it seemed to jump back and forth or made no sense at all. The original focused on helping people. This one did not and there was no connection between the main characters. Seems to me that NBC just wanted to cash in on the popularity of the original. No wonder it tanked.

I remember checking this show out and expecting an awful reboot of what was a fairly low end sci-fi/adventure franchise in the 1970s. I liked the original shows, but as I grew up, noticed how cornball the networks made them be at times and how blatantly they reflected the 70s television market. Now, this version of the Bionic Woman. First, the lead actress was phenomenal. She was the girl next door (the stacked girl next door)...she wasn't exotic. She was the kind of girl a normal guy could flirt with and still feel like he was talking to a beautiful woman. Her performance was dead-on for the material given. She played a bartender whose life got turned upside down. As to the bionics, there were restrictions on using bio-mechanical tech, since the author of "Cyborg" owns the rights to those (I think there was a lawsuit against the Six Million Dollar Man over it in the 70s). They stayed away from the stereotypical bionic stuff for a while and touched on it the last few episodes. Now, they might even take some of the Smallville approach to super speeds and such.I like the fact that the little sister wasn't stupid. She knew she was being lied to, just not what about. That was a good touch.Miguel Ferrer was awesome. He has presence. And they showed how dynamic he was as a character...and willing to do whatever was needed to accomplish a mission. He was not 2 dimensional at all.The only problem was the damn writers' strike in Hollywood. The show was just getting its momentum what that hit and nothing was tied up. So to judge the show as being "choppy" based on an incomplete season is really dishonest.I would love to see the cast brought back together for a TV Movie or Mini-series at some point. More Michelle Ryan!!!

I actually was quite enjoying the series, it had a few faults to be sure, but was really starting to get into it when the writer's strike led to it's disappearance from the screen. There were a lot of unexplored plot lines set up for later in the series, hacker sister, sinister father/son bionic doctor thing of her late boyfriend etc. which may have added much more depth to the plot if the series had continued. However having said that, to all those who didn't see it, don't bother. The writer's strike led to an abrupt end mid-series where nothing in the slightest was resolved, even worse than the badly cobbled together finale of Heroes season 2, so there's really no point wasting your time.

When my Dad would teach Sunday school, his approach was very scholarly. For instance, concerning the virgin birth, he'd say "If it doesn't make sense, or if it's outdated, then DON'T believe it. Inevitably, a little old lady would chirp up and reply "Please don't take away the virgin birth. I've believed in it since I was a kid. It's special to me" I come here now as the old lady, where concerning the shows of my childhood. Don't take away my childhood by raping the classics. Ron Moore has pretty much raped the noble aspects of BSG and gotten every TV whore/critic to back him up. My childhood heroes have been turned into whiners, alcoholics and pussies in the name of "good drama".And now, someone has tried with Bionic Woman. Guys, there are fans, I'm sure, for the whole "ultra dark brooding" approach. But you know what? Today's generation should have a chance to have heroes of some kind. The TV heroes of the 1970s, however corny or cheesy, enriched my childhood. All this brooding crap today is embarrassing. Good drama be damned, give us a show with redeeming qualities.
