Loved this series - Max Beesley and Julie Graham were excellent. You'll love this if you love post-apocalyptic films/shows!Max Beesley's unsettling character was portrayed so well, you never knew what he was going to do next and Julie Graham's character journey reminded me a bit of President Roslin in Battlestar Galactica.I thought the script and the actors were excellent, I really enjoyed the plot twists and the character development. Personally I would have loved for the series to go on and on and I was so disappointed at how abruptly it came to an end. I have my fingers crossed that the BBC will bring it back to life one day.

I watched both seasons within a week, loved both seasons. I hope that they are going to continue this show there are so many unanswered questions. Like who is behind this, where is this so called haven for the selected few? What will happen to those that were left behind? Please make another season of this show. Love IT!!! What really got me hooked was the characters and the storyline. They could easily make 3 more seasons. I would like to see the group get bigger as well with the new character have a purpose to staying with the current group. Like he is updating the government behind this whole virus outbreak. Or they finally find a place to make it their home.

Tips for surviving the end of civilization: 1) Be prepared, if not, get weapons IMMEDIATELY! 2) Setup security and/or defensive positions, keep up look outs 24/7 3) Have an escape plan, and a fall back plan in case you must flee 3) Stockpile water and provisions 4) If not already gotten, get survival gear (blankets, tents, torches, matches) 4) Scout / Scavenge / Travel at night 5) If in a small group, STAY TOGETHER 6) Increase numbers primarily to bolster defense and scavenge capability 7) Limit your movement in the day-time, unless farming or raising animals. Darkness is your friend, unless it is cold...then attack someone while they are sleeping by the fire.Survivors made me angry. These people were blessed to wake up and not have to worry about taxes, corrupt government, and the daily grind of society. As an American, I dream of zombie apocalypse and end of the world scenarios. These idiots constantly make horrible decisions, put themselves in danger, lose friends to unarmed goons, isolate themselves in broad daylight, whine about their own gun when bad guys constantly hold them under duress, and listen to stupid women who know nothing about survival and self defense. Don't forget, let every bad guy go only to have the same thugs show up again and again like some Saturday morning children's cartoon show.As for the personalities. The doctor is unbelievable. The black guy had rage and domestic violence on his rap-sheet, but he is a total kitten in the later story. Abby is a stupid fat lady. The blonde is a dumb useless woman good for only making babies, she plays her role well. Al is useless, the 11 year old boy is annoying, and the only reason why I watched this show is because I was waiting for the ex-con to actually make good on his murder tendencies, and I was disappointed! I stopped watching this crap when the black guy gets caught trying to bust out the ex-con and Al ran like a scared school girl running from a child predator. There is no season 3, so there is no point continuing to waste my time with this crap. I see now why the show was cancelled. Then the whole vaccine secret organization bit. That made absolutely no sense. Do the writers not know how vaccines are synthesized? Goons running around town mugging survivors as test subjects? Seriously? I would have raided a police station and shot those retards and stolen all of their stuff. Then I would have followed the helicopter and stolen that too. Unbelievable.

I watched this with no preconceptions of what to expect. So during the first few episodes I was wondering how far would they push the horror of the scenario. It's not too scary, but adequate plot twists and a decent script hold the entertainment value here. As it stands, it is enjoyable and well worth watching. Have an apocalyptic night in and prepare to be fascinated. The sets and environment painted draws you into a horrible situation filled with plenty of dead people and abandoned stuff littering the cityscape which in turn paints a backdrop to the story better than some feature movies. The characters are believable and interesting and by the final episode I'd become quite attached to them. I really liked this series, I found myself watching season one on DVD in one sitting, each episode drawing me to the next. But they should have added some flies. They had the sounds. But no actual flies. Some maggots would have been "nice" for effect. Maybe some pets gone bad, monging down on people. Some eye pecking birds? Birds just love pecking on eyes. Maybe some more insight into animals and their reaction to all the people dropping dead would have been a "horrible" addition? Also, despite all the danger, there is a serious lack of guns in this series. The main bad guy walks around with a double barrel shotgun and none of his cronies nor the main characters think to attain some guns for themselves. Oh, and there is a lot of bitching about the lack of electricity. Apparently nobody in England has ever heard of a generator. Or solar power. If you can get past these and other plot holes, there is an entertaining watch here. It's not all bad. They just needed a bit more violence, gore and situations to make it more dangerous and realistic. The writers hands were probably tied by modern censorship I imagine.
