johnfg-83353 This has the best writing for any show ever. The one liners and gags are brilliant and completely make sense. This is comedy at it's smartest. Paddy mcguiness delivers his all time best performance and adds so much weight to the show. He is hilarious however I think he gets jealous whenever anyone else has a funny moment because he always tries to steal their joke. This is quality entertainment especially because paddy mcguiness is really fit, ummmm, I mean the girls are really fit. The directing is fantastic and the flashy cinematography adds to the theme of vanity and provides a nice juxtaposition to the realistic, improvisational dialogue. It's also fun working out who you like and don't like on the show. This is the funniest show on TV, thanks to brilliant writing and one Oscar-worthy performance
Dave This is an ITV dating show that is presented by Paddy McGuinness. A male contestant introduces himself to 30 young women, who each have a light in front of them. If they don't want him, they turn their lights off. A video that the contestant has made, in which he talks about his life, is shown. After that, a video about him, made by his friends/family, is shown. Next, he demonstrates a skill that he has. If more that one girl still has her light on after all that, he chooses which one he wants to go on a date with. If only one girl has her light left on, he goes on a date with her. If none have their lights on, he goes home alone. The presenter of this is annoying and overbearing. He wastes time by pointlessly and arrogantly interjecting his brand of hyperactive banter and unfunny jokes several times during each episode. Not all contestants go through all the same rounds. Some inexplicably don't have a video of their friends/family talking about them shown. That is biased in their favour, as it's common for many girls to turn their lights off during that round.
Jackson Booth-Millard I saw the adverts for this new dating show at the time it was starting, and it was essentially the replacement for Blind Date for Saturday nights, and I was really happy that it turned out to be just as good, if not better. Hosted by Patrick 'Paddy' McGuinness, this dating game show sees thirty single women looking for their perfect date, and all have a podium that starts white, and they will flash red when they press their buzzer. A single man will come down the "Love Lift", with a song they personally chose playing, and the first round will see them introduce themselves by name and where they live. The second round sees the single man on a recorded video telling all about himself, what he does for a living, his living situation, and of course what he is looking for in a perfect girl and relationship. The third and final round sees either the single man demonstrating a talent or skill he has in the studio, or it sees a recorded video from a friend or relative that reveals more about him and his particulars. If the single man can survive all three rounds with some girls, a minimum of one, leaving their lights turned on, it means a date is definite, but if all girls turn their lights off it is a Blackout, and the man leaves with no date and to the song "All By Myself". If the single man does have more than two girls leaving their lights on, he has the choice of which of the girls lights to turn off until just two girls left. He then asks a question to both girls to get an answer and decide which to go for, and Patrick gives him a fact that is true about one of the girls, i.e. something embarrassing, and of course whichever girl he chooses is the one that will go on a date with him. Every couple on the show goes for a date to the tropical island of Fernandos, and they spend the day doing an activity, e.g. water skiing, rock climbing, quad biking, racing, etc, and a dinner talk together, and obviously after this they can conclude separately whether they can have a future together. Patrick 'Paddy' McGuinness is a great choice of host, with his lovable catchphrases, e.g. "Single man, reveal yourself", "No likey, no lighty", "If you're turned off, turn off", and of course his near naughty but funny introductions, e.g. "Let the chicken see the nugget", "Let the tiddly see the wink", "Let the banana see the split", "Let the crown see the jewels", "Let the tongue see the twister", and so many more. It is good also because you can make your own mind up about whether the guy will get the girl, if you are a girl watching you can find the guy hot or not, and if you are a guy watching you have thirty women to decide whether you think are fit or not LOL, a great fun dating game show. Very good!
andrewwhitehead1000 30 desperate girls (some slightly deranged), 1 desperate man. What a formula!! Blind Date it is not. Paddy McGuiness, what are you doing?? Paddy's gags barely hold together a show that should never have made prime time TV. Maybe I'm just too old to get it, but please give it a wide berth and do something more interesting. Go to the pub and meet real people!! Bring back Cilla!!!! AT least Blind Date tried to have a serious element by interviewing last week's 'winners'. Take me out does none of this and just moves on to yet another desperate guy trying to impress 30 desperate girls. It is 1 out of 10 because it is just so cheaply made and a terrible formula. Just bad.
